ON:  13-15 June 2008.

COST:  $500 for the weekend or $200 per day for any combination of days longer than the weekender.  Includes use of the blinds, refuge fees, campground fees, guide/teacher and dinner.

OBJECTIVES:  We will work on making great images of breeding birds and the babies that are accessible this time of year.  Stilts, avocets, grebes, waterfowl, terns and many marsh birds are in full display this time of year.  Starting before sunrise and working until after sunset makes for long days in the field but we get many more photo opportunities that way.  Usually take a break in the middle of the day to relax.  Will learn how to shoot the refuges from our cars and blinds and how to respectfully approach the wildlife of the area.  These techniques can then be applied anywhere else you choose to shoot.  My floating blind will be available for use and many of my clients "steal" it's design for their own use.  My floating blind gives me a fresh perspective not many other people get.  Many images for my Baby Bird Book have come from these trips over the years.  Great photo tour for birds and baby birds.  Want great photos of birds come with me on this tour.  Learn about the Klamath Basin and it's wonderful photo opps.

WORKSHOP:  Will meet you Friday evening to begin the tour and give you the orientation and sign you up for the different blinds depending on which ones are hottest and in use by which critters.  We only sit in blinds where there are photo opportunities.  We will set up camp or you can check into the motel which ever you prefer.  I will give tours of the refuge showing hotspots and we will shoot as a small group when you are not in a blind.  The days start early and you should have your own breakfast or snacks in the field.  There will be some down time to rest and eat lunch if you choose and we will have an early dinner at the local restaurant (included) then back out for sunset light.  We will shoot all day Saturday and Sunday morning finishing up around 11am on Sunday.  If you choose to stay longer we will continue to work the area and I have a couple other locations we can check out if interested.  Your fee will cover campground fee, blind use fee and dinner each day.  We will begin Friday evening after dinner.

LODGING:  Local campground right in the heart of the refuges or local motel just 5 miles away from our camp site.
