Alaska Island Gallery

ON:June 30-July 18, 2002, pick your week.  I'll be there the whole time and willing to show you the great stuff I've found.  I'm planning on shooting St. Paul first then heading up to St. George the last ten days or so. Since I’ll be working both St. Paul and St. George.  Call to customize your time and location.  Plan on spending a week on one of the islands or a week on each island.

COST:  $2800 per week will include all food, lodging and ground transportation.  Just arrive with your photo gear and lots of film.  This will be my third trip to Alaskan islands and it is filled with photo opportunities.  The famous puffins, nesting seabirds, and fur seals are the hottest attraction but many other opportunities exist as well.  The weather is often foggy so be prepared.

OBJECTIVES:  To capture great shots of the island wildlife.  We will be shooting the cliffs with the high concentration of nesting birds.  The Northern Fur Seals will also be in front of our lenses as well as the young arctic fox and wildflowers.  The beauty of the place is it is small enough to spend time at your favorite location.  I have transportation and will show you the hot spots, I'll be the taxi driver so you will be able to come, go and stay as long as you want at the different locations.  We will work the light whenever it is out and when it isn't out we will work the brightest parts of the day.

WORKSHOP:  Up early, shoot all day and you'll be able to maximize your time however you like.  I work hard and am shooting whenever there is enough light which makes for long summer days in Alaska.  We usually get started around 7am (unless there is a sunrise) take a lunch break then shoot until evening meal and if light is good I take any interested people back out until it is too dark.

LODGING:  There is only one hotel option on either island and that's where we'll be.  Double occupancy is the norm.  All three meals are also included in the fee and with my small groups meal time is a good time to share, and get to know everyone.  We do a lot of networking too.
