Texas Birds on the Cozad Ranch
On: Will arrive on 3 April 2005 and depart after the morning session of 7 April 2005 Cost: $1500 will include ground transportation, all meals, lodging and photo sessions-Four full days and nights. Objectives: We will be sitting in photo blinds early morning and late afternoon with mid days open. We will be spending time in the raptor blinds for Crested Caracara and Harris Hawk as well as blinds near water and feeding stations which will give us plenty of opportunities for the local birds and some exciting migrants too. Northern cardinal, doves, orioles, Audubon oriole, golden-fronted woodpecker, Greater Kiskadee are all possible with many exciting possibilities that time of year too. We will have 8 sessions four morning and four evening. Workshop: Staying right at the ranch will make this a very comfortable photo tour with the food and lodging right there. The food is great home cooking and the rooms are newly remodeled. The blinds are within walking distance or a short drive from the ranch house. we will be out early with a nice break mid day for exploring south Texas, relaxing, working on digital files.... Then we will go back out for an evening session. We will arrive in Texas on the 3rd and check in to the ranch early afternoon and be in our first blind that evening. The 4-6 will be full days on the ranch with the 7th scheduled for check out after a morning shoot in the blind of your choice. Lodging: The Cozad Ranch is about 5000 acres and has lots of photo blinds with a diversity of habitats, which gives us good photo options. The ranch house is very comfortable with newly remodeled guest rooms. The owners are very gracious and Texas hospitality is the best way to describe Johnny and Jane Cozad! you will love this trip and get lots of great images!
