WOOD DUCKS & FALL COLORS IN ASHLAND, OR A GREAT GET AWAY! With Raptor Option ON: 7-9 NOVEMBER 2003 COST: $280 --Includes all instruction, two breakfasts, a gourmet dinner, and two slide programs. OBJECTIVES: To photograph wood ducks and fall colors in spectacular Lithia Park. You will be given the opportunity to improve your photography and try new techniques in the field. The red and yellow leaves reflect in the water giving the ducks a background that screams with color. As the leaves begin to fall, they litter the ground with photo opportunities. The birds are wild but very used to people so close approach is common. I use a 400 or 500mm lens for close ups of the ducks but some wonderful shots can be taken with 80-200mm as well. The mornings are cool and often frosty, which adds to the opportunities. WORKSHOP: We will meet Friday evening from 7:30-9:00 for a slide program and introduction to the area. Saturday morning we値l meet early for breakfast (included) then head to the park for photography. We値l break for lunch then head back to the field to photograph. Dinner will be gourmet and is included in the price. After our wonderful meal another slide program on nature photography will be given. Bring 20 of your favorite slides for viewing also. Sunday back to the park in the morning and we値l finish with brunch at our awesome Bed & Breakfast. All this great phood and photos is included! LODGING: I have a great Bed & Breakfast (Winchester House) option with wonderful rates. A less elegant option is a motel very close to Lithia Park. This is a weekend that痴 wonderful for non photographer spouses too. They have many options for the day, like shopping, or visiting nature and historical points of interest. For the spouses I値l include the dinner, two breakfasts and both slide shows for a great price of only $100. I will keep the shooting group to around 7.
Captive Raptor shoot option for Sunday afternoon and Monday morning. We値l travel up the road about 30 minutes to the facility where we can shoot some great captive opportunities of raptors. Only $100 will allow you to shoot Sunday afternoon and Monday morning. Two long captive sessions with the birds. |
